Personal Protection
in the Home
(NRA Course)

When running away is not an option, such as in your own home, the proficient use of a handgun may make the difference between a negative and a positive outcome of a life-threatening situation caused by an aggressor.

This is much more than a target shooting course, as participants need to have sufficient maturity and judgement skills to assess and take control of potentially dangerous situations. It is built upon the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course (attendance of this or proof of equivalent required).

This course teaches defensive handgun applications and provides participants with a mental and legal framework prior to defending themselves and others.

The live fire section therefore simulates various common defensive positions and shooting techniques.
